I started my professional career by spurring an offer from a reputed IT firm to join a fledgling robotics startup started by college seniors at less than half the salary offered by the IT firm. I learnt bucketloads of how to run a business, hire, train employees and let go of poorly performing ones. I learnt bucketloads of how to run a business, hire, train employees and let go of poorly performing ones. I traveled the length and breadth of India selling our products including selling to the Indian Navy. I then briefly worked at Tata Sky in a product marketing role where I had the privilege of working with very disciplined individuals who showed me how to pull off projects linking hundreds of people and multiple teams. After Tata Sky I primarily spent time creating startups and consulting startups. I assisted a finance startup experiment with offline channels of growth, launched a beauty on demand service and co-founded a healthcare startup that assisted healthcare professionals leverage the digital ecosystem and access tools to grow their practice. However, in my seven years of professional experience as part of startups and growth companies, I experienced a crippling lack of empathy and lack of designing for the customer. I realized current companies are built to design for profit for a few over all their stakeholders. Not only does this create an environment where there is no real innovation, it also leads to tapering of profits. It seems like a win-lose but it actually is a lose-lose, no one wins. That is why so many companies are failing across the world. Companies who are in a position of power do not have faith to innovate and design for their stakeholders and they end up resorting to techniques to protect their growth by damaging the eco-system. I want to dedicate my time and resources to assist companies from around the world create meaningful brands that all their stakeholders believe in, I want to assist companies innovate and design to delight all their stakeholders every single time.
