Catherine is a primary examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office and focuses on the examination of patent applications relating to polymers; catalysts for the polymerization of olefins, particularly Ziegler-Natta catalysts; processes of olefinic polymerization; and products containing polymers, including adhesives, paints, tires, and solar cell devices. Catherine is a registered patent attorney who practiced all stages of patent litigation before joining the USPTO. Although her technical background is in the field of chemistry with a focus on inorganic and organometallic catalysts, Catherine also has litigation and arbitration experience concerning other technologies.Catherine has experience in counseling clients on intellectual property matters, including patents and software licensing. She has also represented national companies in asbestos and other toxic tort litigation, analyzed scientific and medical issues related to asbestos litigation, and advised clients on regulatory issues related to introducing new substances into foreign markets.
