Upon graduating from college in May of 2023 Caleb Schmidt moved to Charlottesville, Virginia for the 2023-2024 academic year where he interned with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network as a business development specialist. In this role, Caleb worked for the Flannery financial team, a nationally ranked team in the Northwestern Mutual company. While working for this Fortune 50 financial services company (based on total revenue and assets), Caleb assisted his team in providing consultation on wealth and asset income protection. He also helped to direct a successful client recruitment project, identifying and engaging hundreds of prospective clients that would receive comprehensive financial planning services During his college years, while pursuing a business management degree with a minor in accounting, Caleb honed his strong interpersonal and administrative skills in various roles. Most notably, he served as the treasurer of the Grove City College Activity Board and Executive Team Member of the Orientation Board. In these roles, he honed his quantitative reasoning and asset management skills to help these organizations improve their logistical and operational effectiveness. While leading these organizations, he was able to work with various stakeholders and was responsible for the oversight of both people and events. With these and other experiences, he has been able to combine his strong interpersonal abilities with his analytical reasoning to grow his strong business development and operations management skills. Caleb intends to pursue career opportunities in business development, sports management and/or sport analytics.
