As an Advocate Supervisor I managed a team of 15-20 volunteers and oversaw 30-40 cases on a routine basis. My responsibilities included report writing and editing for the 3rd district family court; enriching our volunteer team with learning opportunities, one on one support, and peer support; as well as case management by maintaining regular communication, connecting families with resources and support, and building meaningful relationships with parents and children.In this role, I learned a great deal about the judicial court system and the legal process of child welfare. I also gained a lot of first hand experience supervising a small team and really enjoyed building a community within our volunteer team.

As a TFC Trainer and Recruiter, I worked with a small team to identify and bring in families who were able to care for children with high levels of need and train and prepare them for fostering. I researched marketing avenues, networked with foster care representatives, and developed recruitment plans. I also helped develop visual and audio marketing materials. I became certified in FIRST, the state wide foster parent training program as a trainer. I also helped develop advanced training materials and delivered them to Treatment Foster Parents in training. I worked one on one with prospective foster parents and helped them with the assessment process to see if their household was a good fit for Treatment Foster Care. At this role I learned a great deal about the administrative processes in Idaho's Department of Health and Welfare, marketing to a broader audience, and I gained lots of first hand training experience.

I founded and ran The Wardrobe: Treasure Valley, a small non-profit that provides children in foster and kin care with clothing and supplies in a manner that supports self-esteem and self-efficacy.
