Led the project management of the Suite Spot business incubator, which is the reutilization of the old City Hall building. This project also serves as a host site for several free business resources for business owners. Cofounded the Sugar Hill Business Alliance in 2014, which has become the largest group of its kind in the county. Writes and presents agenda items, proclamations and policies on behalf of the City at council meetings. Founded the Gwinnett Communications & Events Committee to create cohesion between the 16 local cities in Gwinnett County.
Recreation Supervisor
Direct supervision of 5 recreation facilities, 15 parks, and nearly 60 staff members daily; departments range from fitness to athletics, facility rentals to customer service, and special interest classes to aquatics. Prepares division, capital outlays ($115K-$460K), and $3 million dollar operating budget for the department. Serves as representative for the City’s pension and contract negotiation team. Active involvement in the prebid, RFP, and selection process for parks, programs, and services. Plans, recommends, and implements policies, practices and procedures for the department which has resulted in 15% savings in facility use staffing costs. Facilitate and implement youth and adult athletic leagues and related programming. During my tenure the results have been in the form of a 100% increase in adult sports league revenues. Serves as the department’s liaison to several civic, interest, and non-profit organizations including; Kiwanis, Rotary, and the Chamber of Commerce. This relationship building has led to an increased awareness of our programs, resulting in a 15% increase in gym rentals. Serves as disaster management liaison and hurricane team captain.
