EMC IT's environment is highly virtualized (90%+) and ready for the next phase of our journey. One of the key objectives was to offer IT services through a user-friendly portal and to automate much of the manual processes that happen behind the scenes.Under the Private Cloud Infrastructure Group in Management and Automation I focused on the following:- IT Orchestration/Automation- Communication and Collaboration under the ITaaS program- Enterprise Tools ManagementUnder the IT-as-a-Service (infinIT) project I completed the following: (Jan 2011- Dec 2012)- Defined core use cases, evaluated six different platforms and worked with architects to choose a platform.- Branded the portal as “infinIT” and developed the graphics with the extended team.- Wrote up requirements and led development team as product owner.- Facilitated focus groups to gather and incorporate end user feedback.- Built EMC IT’s first social Knowledge Base (Infopedia) to encourage self-support and improve the end-user experience- Built a consumer centric storefront from the ground up by engaging user experience designers, business leads and application developers.- Played a variety of different roles to get the job done.- Trained hundreds of fulfillment team members and supporting staff.- Delivered a Beta release in August 2012 and a generally available release in November 2012. -
