Although my cats have told me they would appreciate a move to a warmer climate where they can have the windows open for more than just five months per year, my Illinois roots run deep. After a successful run as a printing prepress professional, a career change may be necessary for me to accommodate them somewhere down the road. Given the changes within the print industry that have led to more reliance on technology and less on humans, a move to web development offers a comfortable shift for me, my cats...and my wife. I know that the computer expertise I've gained over my years in print will prove valuable. Working with multiple software programs on different operating systems has a similar feel to web dev. I can and will leverage that knowledge, coupled with the Actualize bootcamp experience, to become a full-time web developer. I'm currently honing my skills online using Ruby on Rails, Javascript, React, HTML5, and CSS3.One of my hobbies is playing the drums, when the cats allow it. My wife and I are also sports fans. The cats certainly don't mind that since they have laps to sit in during that time.
