Facilitate a series of management discussions on developing new strategies for two research programs of CIMMYT, a partner of Bioversity. Delivered the meetings and its proceedings.

Institutional Learning and Change (ILAC) Initiative & BetterEvaluation. Responsible for providing support to ILAC Coordinator on aspects of program management and compliance, and carry out social science research. Tasks include develop program strategies and workplans; oversee project implementation; develop knowledge products and disseminate project outputs; facilitate internal and external meetings; supervise consultants and temp staff members; develop, use and advocate for knowledge sharing and learning tools; and partnership identification (network mapping) and analysis. The research tasks, in the areas of organizational learning, monitoring tools, and adaptive management, included research design, data collection and analysis; and prepare synthesis reports; In addition, co-coordinate the BetterEvaluation.org platform for sharing knowledge on evaluation theories and practices, participating actively in the M&E discussions among CGIAR and IEA colleagues.

Research and managerial assistance in opening a new office branch in Africa (a new division of IFPRI) and set up a new operational unit. Co-coordinated the capacity strengthening unit, supervising directly four locally recruited staff. The areas of responsibility included supervise the delivery of operational activities, build regional networks; facilitate meetings; participate in the design of learning materials; coordination with IFPRI economists to translate their research into learning materials; and representing IFPRI in external and internal events on learning and capacity strengthening in sub-Saharan Africa. Participated in the development of the new strategy for the division; liaised with ILRI (the hosting organization) HR department for contracting 8 new professionals, developing ToRs and interviewing candidates; mentored the new professionals on attributes of research cycle and secretarial skills.
