Evaluated the feasibility of multiple heat sources for large reactor vessel including: steam, oil, and electric heating. Made recommendation based on economic value and long term reliability goals. Identified a new valve technology for improved reliability in a molten slurry application. Worked with valve supplier to provide custom valve design for meeting plant needs. Valve technology was later implemented with excellent result and adopted in other parts of the plant.
