• Developing a unit that fits into a standard ventilation system that provides a constant supply of gas regardless of the patient’s respiratory activity.
• Working in a multidisciplinary team to devise, develop, and manufacture a solution to be implemented into their current design

• Created novel hybrid peptide-polyplex nanocarriers for gene delivery and gained experience on project management and troubleshooting
• Synthesized peptides and polyplexes and characterized them through HPLC, MALDI and GPC
• Performed transfection studies on this nanocarrier and measured transfection efficiency and cell viability through flow cytometry and fluorescence microscopy
• Received a grant through University of Delaware’s Summer Scholars Program to continue research during the summer of 2016

• Formulated and prototyped a medical device to address patient instability when unlocking a locking knee for transfemoral amputees in order to reduce fall risk and increase patient confidence in the prosthetic.
• Designed and manufactured parts through CAD and 3D printing and performed failure analysis and product testing on the prototype

Set up mobile clinics for locals in various villages in Tanzania to give medical attention to those who lacked access. Gained knowledge of lacking clinical needs in a third world country and learned to interact with patients through a language barrier.
