About Christopher Siegel

I'm a mechanical engineer with experience in design and manufacturing of consumer goods and automating industrial processes. I've seen projects in both fields through from concept to installation. I have experience interacting with customers, lower level engineers, project managers, company executives, labor, co-ops and interns. I understand the processes of training new engineers and developing talent as well as having the design capabilities. One of the things I've taken on as a personal task is helping to develop the talent of younger engineers and co-ops. As an engineer I've worked in two midsize companies and one large company, dealing with design and manufacturing issues, and installation of equipment I've developed. I have experience dealing with customers, vendors, fabricators, and collaborating with co-workers to integrate parts into a whole system. In my spare time, I have simple home automation and fabrication projects that I enjoy working on. I like to always be learning and am an avid reader of fiction, history, and technical documents I feel will help me accomplish my goals. I like to tinker with mechanical systems and have excellent mechanical ability. Skills and Abilities:Strong communication skills, both written and verbalGood interpersonal skills.Excellent problem solving abilityExcellent capacity for creative thought and innovationSolid basis in engineering analysisCAD modeling, both 2D and 3D (SolidEdge v12 and v18, SolidWorks 2006, 2007, and 2008, I-DEAS and AutoCAD)FEA experience in I-DEAs and SolidWorks Simulation.Experience in Adobe software (Photoshop and Illustrator).
