Work as a web application developer using PHP, Javascript, and SQL. Also worked as CastleBranch's resident data scientist and visual analytics expert. Developed several small ETL data services and dashboards that kept upper management and HR up to date on the health of sales, employee progress, and health of the product.

Side project. Using data mining techniques along with Ruby, Java, MySQL, Javascript, and HTML5 to map out the possible destinations from a single airport and show the results via an intuitive web visualization and allow users to book flights from the application. This is a personal project that is in active development as time is available to me.

Worked at the Oak Ridge National Labs facility as a full stack developer/software engineer. ABDSM System - Used Ruby on Rails to create a simple application that would allow individuals to store, retrieve, and view models and metamorphic relations between inputs and outputs. This was used to store agent based disease spread model results in hopes of being able to perform verification and validation on them.Lightning and Thunder - This project sought to create meaningful visualizations out of Twitter's 1% public tweet stream. The front end consisted of several visualizations to see what subjects users of Twitter were talking about and when they started talking about those subjects and also looked at where users were talking by using the geo-data from tweets. The front end interface was entirely done in HTML5 and Javascript, with the help of the Cubism D3 visualization. The backend consisted of a 4 node Storm cluster written in Java that parsed and stored up to 17,000 tweets per minute. Each tweet was stored into two separate formats, one for later analysis and one for immediate visualization analysis. Using Storm it was easy to keep all processes separated and easy to add new elements to the process to derive different analysis. The results were then stored in MySQL, and MongoDB. MySQL was used for long term storage while MongoDB was used in conjunction with Cube and Node.js to supply the data for visualizations on the front end.Orca - Built a GUI for command line cyber security tools that are currently under development.CoNNECT - Further refinement of the CoNNECT project I worked on during earlier internships at ORNL.CMS - Used several technologies including: HTML5, Javascript, D3, Node.js, MongoDB to help create a full functioning prototype of a new front end for the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid. This new front end will be used to help doctors, congressmen, and others to be able to have easier access to medical data and analysis of costs.

Worked at Oak Ridge National Labs as HERE program student developing an application called CoNNECT. Using HTML5, JQuery, Protovis, and Spring this application allows users to be able to easily visualize their utility usage online either from a computer or other mobile devices.

Worked under Dr. Chad Steed to develop a group of web visualizations using HTML5 and the Protovis(predecessor to D3) library that would allow customers of a utility to easily and intuitively examine their utility usage over time.

Worked with a team of German students on a small website where users log in and all their geo-tagged photos appeared on an overlay of Google maps.The idea was to provide users an fun and intuitive way to show pictures from a trip almost like a journal. Wrote code that added additional Flickr function support to the Rflickr Ruby Flickr API, most notably the geo-tagging functions.
