Senior Manager, leading a team of 7 direct reports, responsible for all new product development across 3 product lines. We develop hardware (sensors, cables), embedded device (monitors), and software (cloud, mobile) products. We utilize several development methods, including Agile, lean startup, iterative hardware development, and formal product development (for FDA regulated products).Recent accomplishments: ° Received 2 FDA clearances (510k) and MDR approval ° Launched a new sensor product, with volumes of 20M/year ° Promoted 2 employees to higher level roles ° Invested in an internal candidate with a strong interest in starting a project management career by first training and then hiring the candidate.

• Led the next-generation product development team in delivering a flagship embedded system product to market on schedule and budget (~$8m USD). This product is a platform, replacing the top two most successful products that Gogo makes (Air to Ground cellular communications device, Router and voice/data bearer manager with IFE capabilities).• Successfully accelerated a program schedule to address an end of life issue facing a wireless phone product, delivering a replacement phone from the prototype phase, into qualification testing and certification, and on to Production in under ten months.• Led ongoing development efforts for Gogo’s flagship product (Air to Ground cellular), managing an international distributed development team (Chennai, India, Chicago, IL, and Broomfield, CO). Software releases delivered via an Agile development process, using a company-wide quarterly planning and execution plan. • Led multiple programs from early Engineering prototypes, through a corporate Gate-approval process to secure funding, onward through development, test, certification (if required), and into market release and Production.

Project Manager for Markit on Demand, focusing on supporting our clients in the Asia & Pacific region. Currently working 3 projects (4-15 members per team) to develop new websites for large financial institutions. Our teams are multi-disciplined, including: designers, web developers, database developers, web operations, and other roles.This was a customer facing position requiring daily communication with several clients, across multiple time zones (London, Mountain, Sydney, Singapore/Hong Kong).Markit on Demand is dedicated to the presentation of financial content and data for our clients in the Financial Services, Media and Healthcare industries. Responsibilities:• Agile software development and design on the award-winning flagship product, Spy Sweeper - an anti-virus and malware removal application. • Primarily involved in designing the main client GUI and modules to perform client specific tasks, such as the scheduling agent, the shield alert system, and the removal/quarantine of spyware. • Worked closely with the Quality Assurance group throughout the development process to ensure product stability at launch, adhering to agile development methods. • Heavily involved in interviewing new developers for product team.• Project Team Size: 12 (3 GUI, 9 Engine) developers• Project Budget: $8.5 9 million per release cycle (salary, benefits, capital equip included), 6 month releasesAchievements: • As an early employee, helped grow the development organization from 5 developers to 30+.• Evolved role from Perl scripting to GUI design (MS VC++, Borland Delphi) and tools development (MS .NET).• Worked with the Product Manager to implement scrum/agile development, transitioning from a waterfall process.• Spy Sweeper software earned PC Magazine Editors choice (versions 3.5, 4.5 & 5.0).

• Real-time embedded OS software engineering, worked on language localization with the Helsinki, Finland based product Patient Monitoring design group (product supported 12 languages). • Designed, programmed, and tested a patient data download utility for Oximetry products. • Technologies used: Nucleus RTOS (Embedded C), Borland C++, Delphi• Achievements: Launched international healthcare product, S/5 Critical Care Monitor

• Responsible for site decisions, daily content generation, and delegation of writing assignments to other employees.• Wrote 2-3,000 words per day for PC hardware articles and reviews.

• Interned with the Failure Analysis group.• Wrote several hardware analysis and modification scripts, predominantly in ProComm. • Utilized various self-test features to perform automated data collection, and recreated customer drive failures. • Worked closely with adviser to benchmark modified firmware, which stretched drive tolerances and increase areal density. • Tested modifications made to allow for quieter drive operating characteristics, as requested by key customers.• Gained excellent knowledge of internal hard drive functionality such as serial level drive commands, updating drive firmware, and drive self-test routines.
