This positioned the team for a publication of the Year 1 data in The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology journal and a follow-up publication of the Year 2 data in The Journal of Clinical Investigation. Not only did Carol keep the SMT moving full steam ahead, she also kept the 14 T1DAL study sites inline. Amazingly, due entirely to her efforts of working closely with sites, the T1DAL study did not lose any study participants to follow-up between the Year 1 and Year 2 time points. Anyone who has worked in clinical research knows that this is quite a feat. I look forward to working with her on several other T1DAL related publications.
