Anthony started working professionally as a designer in 1997. Since that time, Anthony has continually honed his understanding of graphic design and technical savvy through work on a broad spectrum of projects. In recent years, he has coupled his design background with a keen interest in strategic communications, compelling storytelling, data analysis, technology, and all things brand, in order to further expand his role as a marketing communications professional and leader.Presently based in Ann Arbor, Anthony serves as the Marketing Director for the University of Michigan, College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA), where he not only works with an extensive client list producing marketing strategies, branding solutions, and a wide variety of supporting collaterals for the college—both in print and for the web—he has also built an award-winning team of multimedia designers, web professionals, brand and marketing strategists, and a marketing analyst. As a values-driven leader, he practices the tenants of Positive Organizational Scholarship and cares as deeply about the quality of work his team produces as he does about their happiness and well-being.Anthony is himself an honors graduate of the University of Michigan. With degrees from both the School of Art and Design (BFA), and the College of LSA (BA, English Language and Literature), he is also a proud example and advocate for the transformative power of a liberal arts education. Anthony has traveled extensively, circumnavigated the globe (predominantly over land and sea routes), visited both hemispheres, and has resided in Italy, Japan, and the United States.When not working (or parenting two young boys), Anthony enjoys a number of athletic pursuits from SCUBA diving to triathlon. Anthony particularly enjoys ultra endurance events and has competed in a wide range of notable races from ultra trail runs to the Boston marathon, from Tough Mudder to numerous half and full Ironman triathlons—including the Ironman World Championship (2007) and the 70.3 World Championship (2006-7). Most recently, Anthony competed in Ironman Ohio and Michigan 70.3 triathlons and has earned Ironman's Silver All-World Athlete status for 2024. In October of 2023, he competed in his 23rd consecutive running of the Detroit full/half-marathon and is scheduled to take on his 24th later this fall. As an avid sports technology fan, Anthony owns an embarrassing number of Garmin devices and has served as a beta tester and forum moderator for Garmin Connect/Connect Mobile (formerly Motionbased.com).
