Manages the accounting activities for a group responsible for the administration of 3 health plans that are part of Federal Employee Health Benefits Plan. Ensures the plans are properly following FAR and FEHBAR rules and regulations. Financial reporting includes audited annual accounting statements for each of the 3 plans as well as quarterly schedules of selected balances according to OPM regulations.

Responsible for the financial reporting of all of the company's domestic subsidiaries. Supervised staff accountants and field controllers responsible for general ledger entry. Wrote and maintained financial statement layouts for both subsidiary and consolidated reporting. Served as a member on a team responsible for centralizing all accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing functions at headquarters, resulting in annual savings of $2.5 million dollars. Implemented Sarbanes-Oxley 404 design and testing during period of investment by Avis Budget Group. Responsible for tracking the company's costs associated with internally developed software in accordance with SOP 98.

Full responsibility for all financial aspects and human resources of a $12.5M privately held corporation that serves as a buying group for computer resellers. Supervised staff accountant with responsibility for billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Served as a key member of management team developing an E-commerce procurement tool for the company's reseller community to use to purchase from the distribution chain, lending expertise in developing business model, pricing, and all back-end functionality to link with existing accounting software as well as related accounting procedures. Implemented cost-saving benefit programs such as Sec. 125 plan and 401(k) plan that generated employee goodwill. Introduced smart businesss practices such as budgeting and treasury management. Converted DOS based accounting software to Solomon IV accounting system.

Supervised the day-to-day accounting functions of two divisions of the North American subsidiary of NEC Coproration which sold hardware used in the telecommunication industry, satellite equipment, and microwave radio equipment. Performed month end closings with the preparation of financial statements and managment reports. Prepared quarterly tax and SEC reports to headquarters. Supervised a staff of 5 with responsibility for accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, and fixed assets. Improved efficiencies resulting in reduction of month end closing from 6 working days to 3 working days.
