Charles has over 20 years of experience in healthcare working as a provider, entrepreneur and investor. He now leverages this breadth of experience in leading Cerecin in the fight against neurological diseases and brain health.Prior to joining Cerecin, Charles was with Inventages, a global healthcare venture capital and private equity group with $1.5 billion under management. Inventages was one of the world's first and leading funds with a focus on nutrition and wellness. Charles managed all stages of the investment life cycle: deal sourcing, due diligence and supporting portfolio companies. Charles has a specialist interest and particular experience in investments in the brain health, digital health and emerging markets (particularly Asia). Earlier in his career, Charles co-founded a medical device company to develop a product that he invented through the course of his clinical work as a trauma surgeon. During this time he also consulted to other healthcare start ups and Safeguard Scientific, a US-based venture capital firm. Before this Charles worked as an orthopedic and reconstructive surgeon in London specializing in lower limb and hand surgery. Charles received his medical degree from King’s College London and trained in general medical and surgical specialties in London/Surrey, UK. He also has a BSc in Neuroscience from University College London, an MSc in Surgical Technology from Imperial College and an MBA from the London Business School and the Wharton School.
