Profile bio

About Camilla Stanley

I hold a Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Science from the University of Toronto and a Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Business Management from Seneca College. I have completed the Parliamentary Internship for the Environment program at GreenPAC, a non-profit organization promoting environmental leadership in Canadian politics and subsequently worked as the Legislative Assistant to Member of Parliament, Terry Beech, during his tenure as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance. I have a substantial understanding of the Canadian Parliamentary system, learning techniques on how to best advocate for important issues and developed an interest in advocacy. I have a solid foundation in sustainable development and climate change, and am committed to driving positive change through sustainable practices. I have completed course projects quantifying key sustainability indicators (e.g. energy, water, waste and emissions) for a simulated metal furniture manufacturing company to identify opportunities to reduce ecological impact and proposed recommended solutions and utilized tools such as materiality assessment, business model canvas and Green Value Stream mapping to embed sustainability into corporations’ operations. I’d like to learn the sustainability reporting frameworks, particularly the ISO 14901 and ISO 26000 or GRI, and I am currently developing skills in data analysis and advanced Microsoft (MS) Excel. I currently work as a Compliance Support Officer with the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority and volunteer with Second Harvest, Canada's largest food rescue organization with a mission to reduce the environmental impact of food waste in Canada, as a Peer to Peer Volunteer Assistant, supporting the Peer-to-Peer fundraising team with lead generation and data entry.
