I am PhD candidate in the Charles and Louise Travers Department of Political Science at UC Berkeley. I primarily study American politics and also focus on political behavior and methodology. My career goal is to use data-driven methods to spur development in a) state and local governments as they design and implement policy, and b) encourage the public's ability to learn about and utilize these policies to their fullest extent.My research interests include the interplay of subnational governments in the American federalist system, with particular emphasis on state-level governments and party organizations. I am fortunate to have received extensive formal training in skills that assist in my line of research, including multiple years of graduate level courses teaching statistical theory, causal inference, game theory, and qualitative methods, among others.I am also interested in data science. I have received formal and self-taught training in R (including ggplot), Stata, ArcGIS, Python (pandas), SQL, and Qualtrics.
