Sustainably"For many years, I have been involved in all aspects of steam methane reformers (SMRs), the largest, most complex and expensive piece of equipment in an ammonia, methanol, GTL, or hydrogen plant. These ammonia plants produce fertilizer to improve crop yields to feed the world's ever growing population. And, methanol plants are becoming increasing important as a building block for other petrochemical processes. This work has included not only the design, but also the optimization and revamp of the furnaces. My involvement has been with more than just ammonia primary reformer furnaces - I also work with SMRs in methanol, hydrogen, GTL, oxo-alcohols, and other syngas technologies. There is also a proprietary process heater patent with my name on it, for the furnace used in reforming heat exchanger based plants (KRES).Einstein was once asked how many feet are in a mile.
