With over 20 years of experience in academia and community engagement, I am a passionate and dedicated scholar and educator who strives to advance civic learning, civic media, and anti-racist community engagement. My research and teaching inform and influence policy and decision-making, and I have published and presented my findings to various audiences. As an Associate Professor at Salem State University, I share my expertise and vision with students, colleagues, and community partners, and I seek to create a more inclusive, equitable, and democratic society.In my current role, I am responsible for teaching and conducting research on topics related to civic learning, civic media, and anti-racist community engagement. I have co-edited a volume on anti-racist community engagement best practices, and co-developed principles, professional development workshops, and two symposia that have received national recognition. I have also co-developed a growing culture of institutionalizing equitable, anti-racist civic engagement in higher education by effectively collaborating with researchers, community members, and academics. Additionally, I have served on various large conference planning committees, and contributed to the university's Carnegie Community Engagement Classification and nationwide visibility. I use my skills in web content, marketing communications, and writing to communicate and disseminate my work and impact.
