AWS - Amazon AI - AI Labs- Researched and developed new methods for large-scale streaming anomaly detection (AD) and semi-supervised anomaly detection on time series data. Collaborated with fellow applied scientists on problems in root cause analysis and applications of causal methods to time series and metrics data. A primary contributor to the OpenSearch AD Plugin and a high-cardinality variant.- Co-creator of SageMaker RCF, a random cut forest-based algorithm as a service for performing AD on large-scale, streaming, and high-dimensional data. Domain expertise in understanding, extending, and applying random cut forests to streaming data for anomaly detection and other applications.- Co-creator of SageMaker LDA, a topic modeling algorithm as a service, based on tensor decomposition techniques which is faster and more scalable than known open-source alternatives. Serves as a component to AWS Comprehend, a natural language processing service. Made code contributions to the deep learning framework, MXNet, and the tensor learning library, TensorLy.- Researched memory usage improvements to Hierarchical Navigable Small World (HNSW) graphs, a billion-scale nearest neighbors search algorithm, using clustering and dimensionality reduction techniques. Achieved 4x compression with only 20% latency increase. Contributed to the design of the OpenSearch KNN Plugin.- Co-organized a workshop during an internal machine learning conference on tensor and large-scale matrix algorithms. Taught a six-week course on dimensionality reduction at Amazon Machine Learning University to approximately thirty scientists, engineers, and managers.
