About Chris Baker

My passion and professional purpose lies at the intersection of business strategy, digital experiences, and people. As a Partner at Amdocs Global Studios, I spend my days passionately helping those who seek to become experience leaders in their industries.I joined Amdocs by way of the acquisition of ADK Group, a company I co-founded in 2011 in Boston. We started ADK as childhood friends in our twenties who saw a better way of helping leaders to navigate the rapidly changing digital landscape. Over 10+ years, we built long term client relationships, and grew to be a strong, reliable team of roughly 100 passionate digital experts. After growing 3 offices and acquiring 3 companies without external investment, we joined the experience division of Amdocs (NASDAQ: DOX) to take our abilities and impact to the next level. Today, as part of a global experience studio with the backing and balance sheet of a public company, I get to take on bigger and tougher technology and experience challenges. It's incredibly powerful to have a 4+ billion dollar parent company that still maintains the scrappy and hungry culture of a startup. What I now enjoy most is that no opportunity or technology problem is too big - as we prove every day in serving many of the world's largest and most complex organizations on their experience journey.Since you made it this far....if you're interested in addressing the things that hold you back or open up new business potential through experience, we should chat.

    Co-Founder, Chief Strategy Officer
    Adk Group Oct 2011 - Mar 2021
    Boston, Ma, Us
Prior to ADK's acquisition by Amdocs (NASDAQ: DOX), I spent 10 years as a co-owner and co-founder of ADK Group, bootstrapping the company alongside my childhood friend Dan and many great teammates. We built the company without funding into one of New England's leading independent digital strategy and product development teams with deep specialization in digital health, UX consulting, custom software development and enterprise digital experiences (aka complex websites). We also acquired and integrated some great companies into our team over the years, including Fresh Tilled Soil, one of the Northeast's most renowned UX firms.Over the years, we helped launch high-growth startups like Wasabi Technologies and Firefly Health; created digital health apps with clinicians from top hospitals like Mass General, Brigham & Women's, and Dana-Farber; and consulted with global enterprise leaders at Santander Bank, Broadridge Financial, Brown-Forman, and Mercer on their digital transformations.
  • Ossur
    Product Manager
    Ossur Jul 2010 - Dec 2011
    Reykjavik, Iceland, Is
You've probably seen Ossur's futuristic products on TV - they're in the paralympics, olympics (remember the "blade runner" Oscar Pistorius?), and Nike ads (an Ossur partner during my time there). Ossur's devices leverage hardware (carbon fiber/titanium/etc.) and software (apps, smart sensors, etc.) to transform the lives and performance of people living with limb loss. At Ossur, I managed the company's lower-limb prosthetics portfolio for North America, which focused largely on IoT-enabled smart devices and high-performance custom carbon-fiber prosthetics. Day-to-day I traveled North America listening to our customers and gathering ideas for how we could better serve amputees and prosthetists through product design, services, and sales. I regularly traveled to our engineering headquarters in Reykjavik, Iceland to ensure that our product development efforts met the needs of our North American customers. When I left Ossur to co-found ADK Group with my longtime friend Dan Tatar, the product line that I managed was the fastest growing line in the company. This is certainly not something I accomplished alone, in fact my role was quite small. That said, I remain exceedingly proud of this shared success. I'm so appreciative of everyone that I had the honor of working with during my too-short time at Ossur. My time at Ossur taught me how to successfully design, engineer, and launch complex technology products that people's lives depend on. User experience and quality mean much more when your products are bionic arms and legs that are critical to people's mobility.Other "wins" that I'm particularly proud of:- Launched over 10 new products, including one of the most successful launches in the company's history. - Delivered significant top and bottom-line growth for the product line by recognizing unmet market needs and partnering closely with sales, large customers, and R&D to evolve the portfolio.
  • Medtronic
    Associate Product Manager
    Medtronic Jan 2009 - Jul 2010
    Minneapolis, Mn, Us
When I was hired as a Product Manager at Medtronic Diabetes, I became the first ever person hired from the inside sales department, which meant that I had a lot to prove. Medtronic hires the best of the best - almost everyone around me in product management had an Ivy league MBA. Without an MBA or much of any real business experience at the time, I went to work every day knowing that I had a lot to learn. This created an incredible environment for personal growth and learning. I owe so much of what I know today about product and marketing to my incredible bosses and mentors at Medtronic.Day to day I managed the Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) product portfolio - a connected diagnostic device that reads interstitial blood sugar levels and sends data to Medtronic's market leading insulin pumps. My CGM product was core to Medtronic's strategy of "closing the loop" and eventually curing diabetes through the development of an artificial pancreas. With this lofty goal as my inspiration, I went to work every day in sunny LA passionate about the mission. I learned a very important business lesson during my time at Medtronic - that it's impossible to know everything and it's dangerous to try. By bringing together the right people, setting clear goals, and communicating to drive results, you can be the least knowledgeable person in the room and still bring a lot of value.Accomplishments:Consistently rated as a top performer.Selected for Medtronic's Marketing Fundamentals Program through the Wharton School.
  • Medtronic
    Diabetes Therapy Associate
    Medtronic Aug 2007 - Jan 2009
    Minneapolis, Mn, Us
Here, I learned how to sell. Or more specifically, I learned that I had no idea how to sell. I also learned how hard work can feel when you're not passionate about what you do. But I don't regret any of my time in this role. In fact, I owe the rest of my career to this first job and to the people at Medtronic that took a chance on me. I was an overconfident kid fresh out of college who felt entitled to opportunities I hadn't earned simply because of my past test scores. Turns out, nobody in Southern California cared that I went to the "Harvard of Canada". They cared that I put in the work and proved myself. My boss Irene, my sales counterpart Bryan, and many others gave me a shot at sales and customer support when I was certainly no salesman. Day-by-day I learned the importance of working smart, building relationships, and finding opportunities for personal and professional growth wherever possible. Accomplishments:First ever Diabetes Therapy Sales Associate to be internally promoted into the Product Marketing group. Developed territory with outside sales partner from 185th in the nation to a top-five sales territory nationwide, achieving 56.5% YoY revenue growth.Excelled in customer sales calls and cultivated strong account relationships with physician offices, shown by territory achieving new patient sales growth of 275% YoY. Trained on and participated in lean six-sigma project teams.
