We had lost many veteran reporters going into the semester, but I was proud of how everyone rallied. Most of the then-freshmen I hired have gone on to wonderful careers.- In the final semester of my senior year (Spring 2011), I was both the associate sports editor and a copy editor. I would work the desk at night and edit for grammar, clarity and factual accuracy while coming up with appropriate headlines that fit the given space.
