Spellcraft is an AI research lab and software development company founded in November 2022 and focused on building next-generation, LLM-powered software.As lead engineer and founder, oversaw the development and release of: Merlin, a VS Code chat bot; GSH, a talking terminal shell; UPG, a GPT-powered program generator and editor; GPTweets, a fine-tuning pipeline for writing tweets in the style of a user; and various open source libraries.Information related to Spellcraft's current work is not publicly available at this time.

Added TypeScript template support to create-next-app & fixed templating logic via --typescript flag; updated docs and build scripts to make local development, and contributions, more straightforward; added tests for Node-like hashbang support; fixed starter design errors; upgraded create-react-app to support interactive mode, TS by default.

Worked primarily with Google Closure Compiler (GCC), a largely-internal JS compiler and optimizer (which has been mostly supplanted by modern solutions like ESBuild, Terser, and SWC today).Fixed errors related to --root flag, added ability for open source users to run jscomp runtime tests, which could previously only be run internally at Google, updating them to build with Bazel. Submitted fix for issue with identifiers that contained some extended unicode characters.

Fixed template error where copies of template files would diverge over time, such that the CLI would generate broken projects for many users. Helped affected users debug their projects, worked with Amplify team over the course of several months to get the large PR reviewed. The identical templating pattern was later identified in Vercel's create-next-app and fixed before it could cause problems.

Updated React library to support JWT claims checks in the higher-order component. This allowed developers to conveniently restrict a page only to admins, or mods, or whatever arbitrary role, and so on.

Fixed an issue related to wildcards in rule paths where the logic for the dev server had diverged from Netlify's production build servers.

Contributed one small error message code change which was accepted; argued with the TypeScript team dozens of times about import specifier file extension resolution and ESM support.

Worked primarily web development contracts and then more generalized software work: React Native-compatible libraries, Chrome Extensions, Figma-to-React compilers.
