With over 25 years of supply chain experience across different industries, I feel particularly passionately about enabling customers to deliver, dependent on size, tens, if not hundreds of millions of dollars of value by streamlining their service parts supply chains whilst delivering the highest part availability and equipment uptime.Virtually no OEM is able to survive today’s competitive marketplace without a form of performance based contracts. For these to be profitable, the digital thread needs to be extended beyond design, manufacturing and service execution, and be leveraged in a powerful inventory optimisation solution, that understands those contracts and is able to provide the least possible pool of parts to support them. No matter how advanced other service related solutions are within the OEM’s service business, having the right part available at the time of need is key. Without this first time fix rates drop and AOG/VOR and equipment downtime are the consequence. Globally supply chains struggle to deliver parts to OEMs and their customers. Other than to avoid obsolescence and over stocking, ensuring only those parts that are actually required are ordered has never been more crucial as this will help ease the pressure and reduce lead time variability.
