About Courtney Treadaway
How many chances do any of us have in a career to work on a truly - I mean really and truly - great product? Or, perhaps, a world class service and team? What drew me to Akamai, and has kept me here, is that we get to do both. Akamai created an industry. Over 20 years later we continue to define and lead not only that industry but the others that we've entered since, because we have industry leading people. At Akamai, I get to work with some of the smartest people on the planet and solve some of technology's biggest challenges.Okay, enough about the company. Here's a bit about me. I've been been in the IT industry for 15+ years and, somewhat uniquely, have a master’s degree in counseling while also holding a bachelor's in entrepreneurship/strategic management. This diverse skill set has given me the opportunity to consult with hundreds of organizations and, of course, a diverse set of people and cultures. My most recent areas of focus include web performance, application security, and content delivery for Fortune 500 E-Commerce, Travel/Hospitality, and Oil/Gas customers. I have also consulted and/or led initiatives across a broad range of domains including org structure and operational strategy, risk assessment, project management, staff development, product development, and business continuity planning. In short, I am a self-motivated, lifelong learner with a teachable spirit. I value people, personal and organizational growth, leadership, candor, creativity, and delighting clients.

In July of 2019, I was promoted after aligning with our customers' senior leadership teams to help influence, guide, and/or set strategy for their EComm and Web Security teams. This involved tackling some of their biggest digital challenges (ex: ATO/credential stuffing/bot management, identity management, image optimization, script management/integrity, etc.). During this time, while partnered with multiple internal account teams, we helped grow account revenue in excess of $1M. Now, in addition to the day-to-day/year-over-year account work, I also help lead several internal initiatives to drive delivery excellence amongst our Technical Project Managers, Engagement Managers, and other Professional Services team members.

Promoted to Engagement Manager after successfully improving engagement and product value/adoption for a number of Fortune 500 E-Commerce, Travel/Hospitality, and Oil/Gas customers. As an Engagement Manager, I was responsible for partnering with my customers at more senior levels to ensure proper alignment, support, and delivery against strategic concerns on longer time horizons. This required tight coordination amongst a global portfolio of Akamai's products, staff members, and resources.

Once again in a leadership role, I was given the opportunity to inform organizational strategy, assist with business development, speak at industry conferences, and develop the expertise of our staff while continuing to lead client engagements. I also learned that delivering on these commitments (especially during periods of growth) requires continual care and attentiveness.

As a consultant for The Garland Group, my primary job was to provide peace of mind to financial institutions and industry-related organizations by strengthening their information security posture and easing their regulatory burden. This required learning how to ask difficult and uncomfortable questions in a non-threatening way. It was crucial to probe for potential issues while preserving a sense of partnership with people from all walks of life. By learning how to dialogue with steering committees, boards, and C-suite executives I learned how to effectively work with (rather than against) an organization to accomplish positive change.
