John E. Tehan has a Bachelors and Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from Ohio State and completed all of his PhD Coursework at Georgia Institute of Technology. He majored in Electromagnetics (in particular antennas and RF Communications) and Minored in Optics and Mathematics. He worked about 8 years in the antenna design field until moving into the Telecommunications industry in 1992. He then spent several years doing RF Planning, Operations Management, and advanced products planning for BellSouth International and Bellsouth PCS until he transferred over to BellSouth’s Science and Technology organization where he was assigned as an internal consultant to various new business efforts like product specification of MMDS Antennas/ Receivers for BellSouth Entertainment, evaluation of potential reuse of 700 MHz TV channels, LMDS, WCS, and MMDS bands for data or wireless services for both BellSouth Telecommunications and Cingular. From 2001-2004, John left Bellsouth and went to work for several startup groups as a director of business development for a smart antenna company (fulltime) and a military electronics company where he co-wrote multiple SBIR proposals resulting in awards over two million dollars. In late 2004, he opened a computer services franchise office, which he continues to operate today. Also, over the last several years, he has also taught multiple courses as an adjunct professor for Devry University and as an instructor for Applied Technical Training Corp.
