Manufacturing Operations Estimator
CurrentI currently work here while I manage my side business, CT Music Straps Inc. My position with Topsider Responsibilities include: Construction plan reviews, material take off in order to prepare a complete master estimate for the purpose of manufacturing, shipping, operations and purchasing. Out of this spreadsheet reports are generated for manufacturing cut lists, purchasing lists, and packing lists.Topsider is a Post and Beam Contruction housing manufacturer and we sell, design, build and procure all materials needed to build the home from: Foundation steel and components, Heavy Glulams (laminated Timbers), steel connection brackets, engineered floor, roof, and wall panels, sheathing, siding, roofing, fasteners, exterior / interior dimensional framing lumber, sheathing, insulation, windows, doors, and other purchased items for major shell construction. On our full procurement projects we supply in addition: Mechanicals such as Electrical and Plumbing, HVAC, Interior drywall, paint, kitchen / bath accessories, etc. as required to fully finish the home. Our home designs are engineered to withstand high wind, snow loads, and many are constructed by private contractors across the US, Islands in the Caribbean and in parts of Europe. My job involves an understanding of construction, manufacturing, and I deal with hard copy as well as digital format drawings, specs, etc. Most of my time is spent working from a computer with softwares to coordinate with Operations, Design, Client Services, and Manufacturing Departments.
