EWH is a non-profit organization mobilizing the biomedical engineering community to improve the quality of health care in hospitals serving resource-poor communities of the developing world. Under the Duke University EWH chapter, I designed and prototyped various biomedical devices; helped produce successful design products to be shipped to hospitals in need; and assessed, fixed, and sorted second hand medical equipment for delivery to the developing world. Most notably, I helped with the design and creation an x-ray development timer, a device that assists technicians in manually developing x-rays.

Touching Tiny Lives Foundation is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children and families that are struggling to cope with the ravages of HIV/AIDS in rural Lesotho. I co-founded and orchestrated the Pittsfield 1,000 Mile Relay from 2006 to 2008 while in high school. The event brought members of the Berkshire County community together to raise over $60,000 and promote awareness of TTLF. I then visited Mokhotlong in December of 2010 to volunteer at the safe-home, write grants, and participate in community outreach.
