Having worked in finance since 1978, and as a financial adviser since 1989, I now work for the Fairstone Group as a Chartered Financial Planner, following the successful acquisition of my previous company, Cube Financial Planning. During my career I have mainly worked in firms with a strong City bias and in 1999 I realised a desire to set up my own financial planning business, FS3 Ltd, so that I could stay close to my clients.FS3 became a high profile and award winning business, winning New Model Adviser of the Year ~ South East Region in 2006 and 2007, and Bankhall Member of the Year in 2006. Because of its success FS3 was acquired in 2008 by the wealth management / employee benefits division of a global financial services business, where I stayed until 2010 heading up their South of England advice team.The desire and sentiment that created FS3 led me to establish Cube Financial Planning in 2011, a business dedicated to putting its clients first. As a Chartered Financial Planning Firm providing bespoke financial planning to it’s personal clients Cube FP was awarded recognition as a Top 100 New Model Adviser firm on multiple occasions. With the ever increasing regulatory and operational demands of running a small advice business we entered into discussion with the Fairstone Group, which after a year or so of operating as a Partner Firm, culminated in the acquisition of Cube FP in October 2020.This enables me to now focus my full energies on looking after my clients; the part of the role that I enjoy the most.
