JalisConnect is a program created through a public-private partnership between the Jalisco Government and the Mexican Consulate in San Francisco. It aims to cultivate synergy between the startup ecosystems of Jalisco (Guadalajara) and Silicon Valley.• Launched a Startup Visa pilot for U.S. investors and entrepreneurs seeking opportunities in Guadalajara. This pilot included soft landing services for Startup Visa recipients and their families.• Sourced VC investments for FOJAL (Jalisco’s entrepreneurship fund) in Jalisco startups through Mexico Ventures, the federal Fund of Funds of Mexico.• Arranged numerous promotional and business development events in San Francisco and Guadalajara, hosted by companies such as Google, Airbnb, and the NASDAQ Entrepreneurial Center.• Partnered with LatinSF (SF BizDev agency for LATAM) and other Latin American business development agencies like ProColombia, InvestChile, ProMexico, and BayBrazil.• Planned and ran three business missions to Silicon Valley for the Governor of Jalisco, his cabinet, and industry leaders from Guadalajara.• Formed and fulfilled MOUs with Airbnb, Google, LatinSF, UC Berkeley, the City of San Leandro, Google Launchpad, and Facebook.• Ran a cross-border operation through a U.S. 501(c)(3) non-profit and a Mexican trust fund.
