Profile bio

About William C.

I am a manager of teams delivering services in the physical environment, including facilities, logistics, maintenance and repairs. I have managed large groups of staff and been responsible for accounts worth in excess of US$10m. Having extensive experience working internationally in the DACH and EMEA Regions, I quickly develop effective relationships with colleagues and external partners. Following my first career in the British Army as a Royal Engineer and as an Instructor in Communications Systems, I successfully transitioned into the private sector, primarily in the role of Facility Manager. I have undertaken roles on single, multiple and international sites and gathered experience working with Clients at Corporate levels. I settle into riles and learn new skills quickly, this can be demonstrated by my performance in the Fuel Logistics Sector, where I worked for a Dubai-based company and was based in Afghanistan, During my 30 month tenure, I was instrumental in increasing aviation fuel sales to the German Armed Forces by 200%. My subsequent roles have seen me managing and controlling P&L Budgets, establishing Annual Budgets, undertaking reviews to optimise processes and reduce expenditures and reacting to the additional concerns that the Covid Pandemic has brought to the FM Role.It is my intention to restart my studies for the IFMA Level 4 Diploma, I am looking for a new senior management role where my breadth of technical and people skills can deliver excellent outcomes and commercial performance.

Senior Facilities Manager

Berlin, Germany

Stone Brewing are a San Diego based Craft Beer Brewer, and through their new Brewery and Hospitality Site in southern Berlin were attempting to establish a solid marketing footprint in the European market. The on site FM Operation was limited to myself and one full time employed electrical technician. Most services were sub-contracted, so there was a lot of cost analysis and performance monitoring activity to be undertaken. In addition, the role covered the management of all interaction with external Stakeholders regarding the physical environment. As well as the the Landlord and Contracted Architects, this included Government Agencies, predominantly Environmental Agency, Historical Buildings Agency and the Planning Permission Offices. I was successful in negotiating numerous regulatory issues with these Agencies and mitigating any impact on the Site's Core Operations.Due to the Site being open to the General Public (Hospitality Sector), additional measures had to be implemented to ensure that all Safety Precautions implemented offered enhanced protection to the visiting Customers.

Apr 2017 - Mar 2018

General Service Manager

Undertaking an FM Role on a Site dedicated to providing an International Customer Call Centre with a high number of Staff working on Shift Patterns brings its own raft of challenges, but to do this whilst the Client undertakes a rolling renovation of the Workspace, floor by floor, opened up a plethora of new challenges to all involved. Of primary concern were the H&S implications of combining a Building Site and Working Offices in the same environment. This necessitated timely and focussed liaison between all concerned parties to maintain Project Timelines and to limit Operational Impact to the Client. Noise pollution, enhanced Cleaning regimes and safe access and exit to the Site for the Staff, Suppliers and General Public were among the challenges encountered. In addition to the Core FM Competencies, I was also included in the planning and implementation of the 'Floor to Floor' moves of the Staff as each section of the building was completed. All this was achieved with minimal to zero impact to the Staff and their Core Operations.
