Brittany Geneva Cummings is an entrepreneur, strategist and advocate dedicated to storytelling, community-building, and creating safe spaces.As Founder of Geneva Savvy Media, Brittany uses her 15+ years of media and communications experience to guide brands and organizations who are creating safe spaces for underserved communities at the intersection of advocacy, social impact, and culture. She has worked with dozens of brands and organizations to tell impactful stories through traditional media and through in-person live experiences. Her past and present clients range from social justice and cultural organizations including Color of Change, GLAAD, 1803 Fund, Represent Justice, and International African American Museum, Honeyland Music Festival, to consumer brands including Hilton and Royal Caribbean. Brittany began her career in media working with Georgia Public Broadcasting, WSBTV, AJAM, and CNN before eventually transitioning to communications where she rose through the ranks at Weber Shandwick, Marriott International, Edelman and BerlinRosen, during which time she won PRNews’ rising Stars Under 30 Award.Brittany also works to support the next generation of communications strategists through ongoing coaching and mentoring, including multiple guest lectures at Howard University and George Washington University and her upcoming Freelance Freedom program.Brittany is creating safe spaces for community building and connection as Founder of The Nod, a live event experience brand that produces unapologetically Black events with a twist. She also serves as host for the brand's signature event, Game Night-ish. Brittany actively volunteers with the Greater Washington Urban League, serving as a member of the Young Professional (Thursday Network) Executive Leadership Team from 2018-2020 and again from 2023-2024, working to advance the core pillars of community engagement, political advocacy, youth empowerment, economic security, and social determinants of health. She served as 2021-2022 Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner and Chair of Commission 8E in Washington, D.C., a non-partisan, unpaid position she was elected to in November 2020. In that role she represented the community and liaised with local and federal agencies on issues like economic development, public safety, zoning, and transportation.Brittany is originally from Atlanta, GA and now resides in Washington, D.C.
