Five months into my employment the company began to grow, and I was asked to take over and manage all post-production operations. For me, part of this growth meant re-envisioning how our storage systems were used. An archiving process was created, iterated, and then fully implemented to migrate older projects to LTO storage.

Hired as PopFizz's first dedicated Post employee, Michael hit the ground running by quickly improving editing processes and storage systems. The challenge: create a multi-editor environment with the team's edit platform, Final Cut Pro, which is traditionally NOT a collaborative NLE. Larger projects came with the need for me to develop a tighter offline/online workflow that worked for us. As the company grew to add new staff, my role grew as well to encompass online editing responsibilities and managing all systems and workflows. This included advising new equipment costs and implementing a catalog system to track all media assets.

Though I started with no Broadcast TV experience, I learned how to creatively edit short and long-form content. Having an equally technical mindset allowed me to additionally fill several open roles in the company, such as network/storage administration and digital asset management.
