Joy is a professional risk manager specializing in design and delivery of risk management training and solutions. With over thirty years experience with major Canadian insurers and in private and public sector risk management, she has a thorough knowledge of the intricacies of commercial insurance and the need to buy the right coverage at the best price. One of her oddest moments occurred when a decision on a risk on the public boulevard became the subject of an article in the National Enquirer.As Risk Manager for a multinational company, she provided insurance and risk management direction through detailed analysis of risk management practices. Her responsibilities included insurance purchasing world-wide and overseeing in-house and independent claims management throughout North America. She saved shareholders hundreds of thousands of dollars while protecting corporate assets, reputation and profit lines. In the public sector, she has developed policies, procedures and training techniques that benefit the municipality as well as colleagues across the country. As member of the board of directors of Ontario Municipal Insurance Exchange she assisted with up-dating key governance policies, the reciprocal subscribers agreement and other key organizational policies and practices. Joy is a Fellow, Chartered Insurance Professional with the Insurance Institute of Canada and a Fellow, Risk Manager in the Global Risk Management Institute, an affiliate of the Risk and Insurance Management Society.
