Oversee the science/research facilities in a portfolio totaling more than 2M sq. ft. with a $68M+ budget. Direct a wide range of support and maintenance operations including the direct supervision of four teams led by senior facilities managers, capital and non-capital projects, preventive maintenance strategy, infrastructure renewal, life safety, sustainability initiatives to help meet Harvard's sustainability goals, maintenance repairs and troubleshooting on MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) systems, physical security, contract negotiations/RFP's, insurance claims, building controls, forecasting budgets and prioritizing spending in support of research labs. We work in/around sensitive equipment and environments with active labs operating 24/7 - 365 days/year with very specific temperature, humidity, vibration, and magnet shielding requirements as well as hazardous chemicals and toxic gases, controlled substances, radioactive materials, lasers, and animal research facilities. Review design/engineering drawings and mechanical schedules to make recommendations and advise on accessibility to maintain incoming systems and equipment. Work alongside in-house senior capital project managers and outside project management firms on large-scale renovations, buildings/areas impacted by MAAB (Massachusetts Architectural Access Board) requirements, input on vendor/contractor selection, and interfacing with professors and researchers to communicate and coordinate.

Joined the Facilities Management team as part of an initiative to build, grow, and sustain a successful Preventive Maintenance (PM) Program for the university. Oversaw the communications, planning, and scheduling of PM activities for more than 20,000 components and related systems needed to operate 230+ buildings (about 6.8M GSF) inclusive to Brown University. Built strong working relationships with internal and external customers and service providers building consensus around the importance of maintenance.

Responsible for the infrastructure and maintenance operations of a leading global manufacturing facility producing high volume, precision machined, and plated components as well as maintenance and repairs of rotary transfer, multi-spindle, and CNC machines producing turned metallic parts primarily for the Automotive, Aerospace, Munitions/Firearms, and Medical markets.

Oversaw the movement of high value, time sensitive freight in a $50M division and directly supervised up to 90 employees in a fast-paced logistical operation. Led change management across division through the retirement of a 25-year-old legacy system to a cloud-based Oracle system

Highlights:Served as second-in-command, overseeing daily operations of 150+ soldiers in a combat support company comprised of supply, maintenance, and administration.Planned, coordinated, and executed hundreds of Combat Logistics Patrols successfully leading troops as well as multinational combat teams in delivering critical supplies across known imminent danger areas. Oversaw the training, health, discipline, and morale of 60+ soldiers during mobilization, deployment overseas, and demobilization back to the United States and held direct accountability for $28M in weapons, armored vehicles, and equipment.Supervised cargo handling, inventory, and distribution of shipments for support operations throughout Midwest Region, to include the Hurricane Katrina Disaster.
