I am a passionate information security leader with a strong focus on holistic security strategy and communication. My goal is to make security real and present to everyone, at any level of a business by applying security principles within the context of an organization’s needs and risks.Throughout my decade long security career, and my 20 years in the IT space, I've built several successful security functions, strategies, programs and teams. The methods and functions I implement have often been praised by auditors, clients and partners for they detail and integration into a wider strategy, with particular praise being raised about my approach to security assurance and risk management.I've helped businesses at risk of losing security certification, or trying to gain security certification (namely ISO 27001) to reach their goals, and have brought new levels of maturity into those businesses. Along the way, I've also written, built and deployed my fair share of security policies, processes and tooling. I’m generally known by my colleagues for having a pragmatic, practical approach to security and architecture, which is underpinned by my own technical experience. I’m also not afraid to be wrong, and I believe that a growth mindset is important to a good working environment. It’s important to me to learn, have a fun, and to foster a collaborative working relationship with my colleagues, and to share knowledge in an effort to grow myself and my people.
