As a Claims Payable Analyst (CPA) I was responsible for paying bills related to workers' compensation claims, including legal bills, interpreter bills, nurse case management bills, etc. I also examined medical bills to ensure they were related to the work injury and were at an authorized provider. I also took calls from healthcare providers who wanted to know the status of medical bills.

I was responsible for calling people who had requested information about our insurance plans to ask them if they had questions and follow up with them. I also assisted current customers with their prescription drug plan needs during the annual enrollment period from October 15th to December 7th. This would usually entail calling them, entering their prescriptions into Medicare.gov, and informing them what different prescription drug plans would cost. I also took inbound calls and answered questions from prospective customers. I also helped with entering business response cards into our system to get our insurance information sent out earlier on in my assignment.

I had a very multi-faceted job with Cru. I fundraised for the majority of summers 2019 and 2020 in order to have a salary and be able to pay for ministry expenses. I had at least 200 appointments with people over the course of both summers. During the school year, I met with student leaders for discipleship, helping them grow in their faiths. I also assisted my staff team with needs as they came up, such as running to the storage unit to grab things for an event or making a rides list for when we started meeting in-person again during COVID. I also led a Bible study during my first intern year with interested students.

I took my job seriously as a custodian. I proactively sought out tasks to do after cleaning a bathroom, always wanting to do more. I enjoyed the satisfaction of a job well done, such as seeing a trash room go from overflowing to empty after taking the trash and recycling to the dumpsters. I put my experience on the job to work, such as when handling resident complaints. For example, when a resident complained of a clogged drain in a shower, I radioed my supervisor to ask him to come take a look. I also radioed my supervisor when a shower light was out, asking him to let our maintenance team know. In the morning, when my supervisor puts keys and radios, the two things that teams of two take with them, I was often the first to grab one and hand the other to my partner. I sought to do a good job and earn my paycheck.

While working as a Marina Attendant, my main duties were to pump gas into boats/pump out holding tanks and swipe customers' credit cards. I also was contacted by my supervisor numerous times to tell him if any supplies were needed, such as toilet paper.I also got a knock on the door once by a woman complaining of geese droppings on the docks that people used to launch their boats. As I was almost entirely concerned with just the gas dock, I never walked over there, but I was happy to get a broom and start getting rid of the droppings. At the conclusion of my shift, I covered the gas pumps and put the pump out hose away. In the office, I would log the amount of fuel pumped that day, print the daily sales report, and record the amounts of different payment types (Credit card, cash) that occurred that day. I would add the amount of gas pumped in pump 1 and pump 2 together to make the day's total. I would count the cash, make sure that $250 was in the till for the next day, and deposit the cash earnings of the day, along with the daily sales report and the corresponding form, in a safe. I was very meticulous in counting the cash, as I didn't want to make any mistakes on the form. Afterwards, I would make sure the gas pumps were turned off before I left, then leave. As to be most efficient, I organized ways to make the closing process go smoother. I would first go out to the dock, record the amount of fuel pumped, grab the cash drawer, then cover the gas pumps. If the pump out hose was out there too, I would bring it with me to the office. I would then do all of the calculations and forms in the office before I left. This saved me from making multiple trips to the gas dock. Like my PGSA job, I derived satisfaction from keeping the marina running smoothly.

My job as a Park Guest Service Attendant was very straightforward. My duties were to check picnic pavilions and bathrooms and clean them, to dispose of charcoal in park grills, and to greet picnic groups that had reserved shelters to ensure that they were at the right shelter and, in some cases, to make sure they had a beer permit. When I arrived each day, I would always get right to these responsibilities, and only after they were done would I allow myself to take a break to read or eat. I made a schedule for myself, too. Every Wednesday at Burnes Park I would clean both bathrooms. I thought a weekly cleaning was most practical. I took out the trash in both bathrooms, too, whenever it got too full. I was also aware of the trash pickup schedule. The night before pickup, I would always roll the large trash carts that were scattered throughout the park to the side of the street. The next morning, after the trash was collected, I would scatter all of the carts throughout the park. I also made sure to write my hours down on the paper timesheets in the park office, so that my supervisor would not have to add them for me. This was a low-stress job, but I got the simple satisfaction of keeping the park and the main park building clean.

While working as a Crew Member, I performed various tasks invaluable for customer satisfaction and keeping the store running smoothly. I was most commonly assigned to back booth. This assignment entailed simultaneously taking orders on a headset while greeting customers in the drive thru and swiping their credit cards or taking their cash. During peak hours, this job became very demanding and I had to use all my focus to make sure I was getting customers' orders right. During non-peak hours, I was instructed to clean trays, which I always made sure to do. When I was not working back booth, I worked up front taking customers' orders as a cashier or handing out food in the drive-thru booth. As I got a handle on these tasks, I became more responsible and developed a work ethic that is with me today. It became important for me to see people get their food. While handing out food in the drive thru, I could click "serve order" to make the customers' food disappear from the screen. Seeing each order get "checked off" gave me the satisfaction of a job well done. During down time, I often had to be instructed by my managers to run to the back and get supplies. Through this, I came to realize that it was important to continue to work, which sticks with me today. I also saw the effects of not being prepared. Running out of straws or lids during peak times would delay the drive thru line greatly. Doing my job and continuing to work helped customers get their food faster. This job was where I learned how to function in a workplace.
