In 2003, upon leaving high school, I encountered the familiar sensation of uncertainty—a sentiment shared by many young individuals in South Africa. Departing, I harbored doubts about my potential for success, primarily due to my limited options for further education. With college or university seemingly out of reach, I faced the necessity of finding employment and ascending 'the ladder,' as societal norms dictate. Beginning at the lowest earnings, I embarked on a part-time job earning a modest R600 per month. From there, each step forward presented new challenges; nothing came effortlessly.For the past 18 years, I've immersed myself in the corporate realm, relentlessly pursuing what some deemed unattainable. Along this journey, I've celebrated numerous triumphs, achieved significant financial milestones, and defied societal expectations that equate success solely with higher education. My experiences have empowered me to shatter the misconception that 'young people must attend university or college to succeed,' proving it wrong!Inspired by my journey, I endeavored to pen a book chronicling my experiences, with the intention of guiding others facing similar circumstances. Additionally, I transformed this narrative into a Training Program dubbed MIND—a Training Program crafted to reshape the mindset of today's youth, addressing a vital aspect never formally taught at the school level.
