The only time engineering leadership was very involved in the code review cycle is when we were teaching Curt about our company-specific programming practices. He was very quick to pick up on those and we quickly ended up in a situation where we could trust the work Curt was doing to be accurate and on par with our programming standards without any in-depth code reviews required. Where Curt really started to shine was in his leadership potential. He was especially helpful whenever we were bringing on two new engineers at the beginning of 2018. He worked with them closely in order to bring them up to speed on the platform and continued to answer their questions, provided specifications for issues for them to work on, and provided quality code reviews on their work when it was complete. He began assisting management with larger strategic decisions after expressing an interest in such, and always looked for opportunities to grow his leadership abilities."
