In the field of Addiction Treatment since early 1970s. I have created and supervised inpatient, outpatient, free standing residential, drug court, intensive supervision and treatment, co-occurring, adolescent specific, drug specific, gender specific, early interventive and culturally specific programs. I carried a case load until recently. I continue to provide clinical supervision and consultation for Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors as well as treatment programs. I have been very involved in Minnesota professional associations as well as an advocate for those we serve from the perspective of regulatory analysis, public hearing participation, legislative committees, governance committees (Department of Human Services, Department of Health, Office of Drug Policy) on a state as well as county level. I am a past President of MARRCH, a past Chair of Public Policy for MARRCH, and past Chair of LARRS (Laws, Amendments, Rules and Revisers Subsection of MARRCH. I welcome dialogue about any of the pressing issues. I know I don't have all the answers which keeps me continually searching for more humane and effective ways to treat those who suffer from this condition. I can be fiery but never without cause. The vulnerability of the addicted population presses me to advocate on their behalf where ever and whenever advocacy is required; I use the word "their" when I am addressing those who are still using but I was once among them and have been in sustained recovery for an extended period of time. I am fortunate to associate with professionals who are like minded.
