I will be teaching more than 30 students in grades 7-12 at a Christian school near my hometown in Chautauqua County, N.Y. The school is a ministry of Bethel Baptist Church in West Ellicott, N.Y. We will be tackling the mechanics of grammar, with a consistent focus on advancing student vocabulary, reading, and writing. My responsibilities include teaching by PowerPoint or GoogleDocs, crafting lesson plans, managing the classroom, overseeing students, complying with all policies for the school.I believe the most creative assignment of the year will be having the students write letters to persecuted Christians in other countries through opportunities created by Voice of the Martyrs or Open Doors USA.
