During a successful career in the music industry I gained a unique perspective on the world and gained invaluable experience. While working in music I had the privilege of visiting almost every major city in the United States. During these visits I fell in love with Architecture. After leaving the music industry I returned to school earning an AA in Architectural Technologies as a member of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society. During this time I took an active role in local chapters promoting the sustainability of the built environment including the USGBC. I became a LEED Green Associate and volunteered with the Syracuse Land Bank inventorying and preparing the salvaged components of deconstructed housed to be repurposed in new construction projects. In 2015 I joined the Dwyer Architectural team as an architectural designer. Since then I had the opportunity to grow my knowledge and experience in architecture and interior design with a specialization in healthcare. Working with many clients including University of Rochester Medical Center, St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center, Upstate Hospital, Middle Ages Brewing, and F.X. Matt Brewing the opportunity to expand my knowledge of the field has been indispensable. These projects have allowed me to gain experience in all phases of the development of construction documents, procurement, construction administration, leading projects and teams, developing and growing relationships with clients, understanding building codes and facility and life safety guidelines, project coordination, as well as many other operations of the architectural industry. I took an active role in the internal operation at Dwyer including being part of the strategic planning group. I also became the team leader for our internal technical group. The group has improved the efficiency of the company's CAD software, developed and conducting individual and office wide training, created company CAD standards and templates, and are implementing the ever important utilization of BIM throughout the organization. Currently I am currently working toward my architecture licensure and I am preparing to take the CDT (Construction Document Technologist) exam through CSI (Construction Specifications Institute).
