A leader at John Deere … Loaned Executive at the Quad Cities Manufacturing Innovation Hub … Enterprise IE Manager… Director of Quality … Factory Manager … Division Sales Manager … and a Manufacturing Engineer with a degree in Industrial Engineering.My primary mission? Working across department and division boundaries, I encouraged project teams to commit to a new vision, dramatically change our processes, and transform our culture. Later, I worked as an executive coach and consultant to regional economic development teams, focused on implementing innovative technologies that would move their manufacturing supply chain from simple surviving to being globally competitive. Near the end of my time at Deere, it quickly became apparent that the same skills I brought to bear in business were directly applicable to and desperately needed in Africa. The toughest problem? Hunger. Who am I now? A coach, advocate and catalyst for change … helping people solve the world’s toughest problems. My area of focus? One region in Kenya where we aim to take collaboration to the next level. The goal? To create real, sustainable change. To feed, educate and provide loving homes for hungry and abandoned kids. My wife, Paula, and I are working with an initial guiding coalition. God’s Grace For All Nations’ churches provide a readymade network to spread the programming of Field Of Hope and the Global Agricultural Learning Center at Hawkeye CC. Their focus? Families need a way to sustain themselves. Our experts provide training on agricultural methods that yield measurable, sustainable, and highly impactful outcomes. It starts by empowering women, who are the primary change agents in Africa. The result? Permanent generational change. Change starts with a big vision. Picture this.
