Fuselage - Responsible for fuselage design, assembly, material selection, manufacturing methods and procedures, and composite tooling design and machining. Coordinated and cooperated with payload and performance teams to make sure all of their requirements were met in regards to design. Improved upon 2011-2012 design by decreasing empty weight and increasing rigidity and internal payload volume. Machining - Designed split lines for fuselage composite tooling. Coordinated efforts and set objectives. Reduced machining time of fuselage tooling compared to 2011-2012 by more than 60% . Served as tooling/composite consultant for CSUN and CSU Fullerton Formula SAE teams.Fabrication - Co-Coordinated fabrication efforts of the UAV: fuselage, main wings, canard, and vertical stabilizers. Designed prototypes and proof-of-concept manufacturing procedures. Worked hands-on with team. Instructed colleagues in standard composite layup procedures and techniques. Co-lead composite workshop for Tau Beta Pi.

Assisted in surfacing of composite tooling. Responsible for fabrication of fiberglass fuselage using vacuum bag technique. Prepared composite tooling for lay-up, cut materials, finalized composite parts. Assisted in prototyping and proof-of-concept operations. Maintained shop work space. Team placed 3rd out of 35 internationally with the "slickest" plane at competition.

Helped prepare students for the rigors of college by assisting small groups of students in completing homework assignment and in-class exercises. Tried my best to encourage students to go to college and keep them motivated.

Nominated and elected Manufacturing Team Lead. Oversaw design and fabrication of team robot. Managed a 40 person manufacturing team. Instructed all team members (peripheral and manufacturing) in proper use of machinery and shop safety. Part of two man riveting team. Involved in design of robot, part fabrication, shop maintenance, fundraising, and community outreach. Outreach consisted of visiting other high, middle, and elementary schools and inspiring them to become engineers. Learned to use and maintain a variety of shop tools safely and without supervision. Acquired a great deal of knowledge which was to be put into next years robot. Traveled with team to two regionals within CA and advanced to finals in Atlanta, GA. Responsible for pit operations and maintenance at competition. Was also a member of the drive team functioning as human player. Entire team awarded Chairman's award at LA regional; the most prestigious award available at competition.
