I have always been a hands-on type of guy: the kind of guy who, as a child, tore random things apart in the corner of my dad's autobody shop. Since then I have managed to learn to put those random things back together, sometimes with my own ideas to try and improve or modify the original design. My interest in machining started in my high school shop class. After graduation I started at a local machine shop, where I absorbed a vast knowledge from starting on manuals to eventually running CNC machine. I was always nosing around when new machines were installed and helped out the techs if I had long cuts, yet I never really gave it much thought that I would be involved in these same builds years later. I passed through a wide array of shops, from large Fabrications to small medical parts. I found through these years I would quickly outgrow the challenges I faced, and became bored with my jobs. I had started to see and be around more maintenance and service techs, and through an old friend I heard of an opening at a Pittsburgh based machine tool distributor. I guess you could call the rest history, as I have since been working on several different brands of machines. The job is never the same any two days, which is what I truly love about it. I keep my machining background close to my service heart now, leaving me think "how would I want this, if I was running it?" I take a lot of pride in my work and try to provide our customers the best service I possibly can. I don't foresee leaving this industry anytime soon, though unfortunately for service people, we are always the first, and last person anyone wants to see, but maybe I will see you all around!
