As a planner for Transcend, I gained experience in report writing while maintaining collaboration with our engineering team with traffic / safety / mobility studies. Using multiple public sources (TxDOT C.R.I.S, TCDS, HGAC, Federal Highway (FHWA), Houston METRO, EPA), I used geospatial data to determine safety viability, road opportunity analysis, and proposed alignments for trafficked highways, roads, and intersections. GIS integration from traffic-specific programs include HCS (Highway Capacity System), VISSIM, TransCAD, Replica, Synchro, and Strava trips database. Deliverables includedstandalone maps, AGOL Applications (Dashboards, Storymaps), databases, and written reports.

My role consists of approving subdivisional plats while also updating our digital library of addresses, roads, annexations, emergency features, jurisdictional boundaries, and transportation. Additionally, my expertise was used to proof annexations using metes and bounds (COGO) and report to the Federal Census (BAS) program) with symmetrical difference update polygons.

Operated geophysical equipment to map subsurface anomalies and terrain using the Surfer program. Tools and surveys used in the field include Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Trimble (RTK) Stations, Electromagnets (EM), Gravity Meters, Resistivity, Conductivity, and Magnetometers. The statistical variation outlined in deliverables provided a better understanding the distribution of data captured by the equipment.

I performed a contract for San Antonio Water Systems in the GIS division. My duties included georeferencing older as-builts (paper and digital) while also updating the current geospatial inventory of all the water features owned by SAWS in Bexar county. Experience at SAWS granted myself an understanding of working within a Geospatial Utility Network.
