Support multiple projects simultaneously while supervising related purchases. Projects include private industrial contracts, graduate research projects and government funded research projects of multiple disciplines. Manage yearly calibration of all required transducers and lab equipment to adhere to ISO accreditation standards (17025). Accomplishments:Lead a small team in the design, construction and commissioning of the instrumentation and controls system for the W2 Wind/Wave Facility at the University of Maine. The system includes PLCs (CompactLogix, Powerflex 525, Panelview), Research DAQ (NI PXIe Chassis, various instrumentation, multi-camera motion tracking system), Power Distribution design (32 fan wind wall), and custom equipment operation (Edinburgh Designs 16 paddle wave generator).Developed standard operating procedures for the use of all equipment in new W2 Facility.Lead procurement effort for all controls and instrumentation equipment in W2, including multiple rounds of competitive bidding from multiple suppliers. Lead site engineer and assistant project lead for retrieval and decommissioning of the VolturnUS 1:8 scale floating offshore wind platform. Co-principle investigator on industrial contract to provide on-site bridge strain DAQ services for newly installed Union Street Bridge in Bangor, ME. The project consisted of multiple site visits to collect over 30 channels of data from embedded strain gauges on composite bridge support beams. Performed in-depth power system analysis and electrical design review of prototype LiDAR Buoy in preparation for deep sea deployment. The system consists of a large battery bank with a meteorological instrumentation suite totaling 110 Watts with small solar panels and wind turbines to regenerate charge. Show less

Also supported network installation and maintenance for a 5 PC manufacturing shop (included security camera installation). Developed custom code to analyze underwater joint welds for hollow tube steel in accordance to ASTM design standards. This code was used to supplement the design of the support structure for an underwater tidal turbine currently being tested. Produced multiple reports on data collected during tow tank testing of various scaled model turbines. Designed instrumentation system for scaled wave tank currently in use by Maine Maritime Academy for wave energy related testing. Also provided instrumentation support for the development of a scaled Oscillating Water Column Platform. Developed Beta shop drawing set for use in the construction of stainless steel mouse carts used by Jackson Laboratories. Developed comprehensive DAQ system package for instructional use at Maine Maritime Academy. Designed and built the supporting DAQ hardware for use in 1/50th scale test of an offshore wind turbine in conjunction with the University of Maine. Show less
