(Kaiser Permanente of NorthEast) Originally was an AS/400 administrator, for this 16 site HMO based outside of Albany NY. Then a company called Novell came along, and developed a 'server'. So, I helped build a team, then design, installed, managed, and maintained an integrated Novell, NT, OS/2, UNIX, Mac 70+ Novell Server Network. Performed migration of Novell 3.x to 4.x for 70 something servers across three states. Managed various projects and staff, developed budgets, negotiated and procured hardware, software and services. Also, Cisco came along at that time, and so did TCP/IP. So we learned 'networking' by the seat of our pants, and by fire. Wow, those were the days.We used FDDI, CDDI, IPX, TCP/IP, Ethernet, Token Ring, Ethertalk protocols. Established company wide Computer and Security Procedures and Policies. Supported Novell, NT, UNIX Servers, Windows, NT and Mac Workstations, Remote Connections, Security, Virus Protection, WAN E-mail Mail, Backup, and Network monitoring. Hardware Experience with routers, servers, workstations, cabling, and hubs.; This was one of the first and largest Networks in NY, VT, and CT at the time.
